Beijing National Stadium

The 2008 summer Olympic Games, was one of the most beautiful sports events in the world, too known as the games of the XXIX Olympiad, Beijing was the city most visited due to the awesone constructions, perhaps the main of theirs was the Beijing National Stadium, this blog is about of this Stadium.

The new buildings are like no others in the world. The National Stadium, for example, is called the "Bird's Nest". even though it's made of steel and concrete, the stadium looks just like a giant nest made of sticks. The Beijing National Stadium was the principal attraction of the Olympics, nicknamed the Bird's Nest because of its nest-like skeletal structure. Construction of the venue began on December 24, 2003. The Guandong Olympic stadium was originally planned, constructed, and completed in 2001 to help host games, but a decision was made to construct a new Stadium in Beijing. Goverment officials engaged architect worldwide in a design competition. A Swiss firm, Herzog & de Meuron Architekten A, collaborated with China Architecture Design & Research Group to win the competition. The stadium features a lattice-like steel outer skeleton around the concrete stadium bowl and has seating capacity of over 90,000 people.
